FROM THE OVAL OFFICE

Welcome to the Meningie Football Club for the 2019 season.

With the first game fast approaching, pre-season training has commenced along with preparation for the season off-field.

Brodie Martin, a home-grown talent, takes on the role of Playing Coach of the League side. Brodie's playing experience and knowledge of the game at both AFL and SANFL level will be a great asset to him as he undertakes the next step of his football journey.  He will be assisted by Mark 'Sparky' Turner.

The playing list sees the return of 2014 Premiership player Myles Warmington and two-time runner-up Club Best & Fairest Todd McKay.  We also welcome Alex 'Reggie' Moyle from South Adelaide to MFC for the first time along with Sean Crook from the Goodwood Saints.

Last year’s Best & Fairest and Runner-up Best & Fairest, Will and Seb Paynter have re-committed to the club for 2019 and we look forward to seeing them take their game to another level this year.

Local identity Shawn ‘Chook’ Ridley has been appointed as coach of the Reserves side. Chook is a life member of MFC and has a wealth of experience at senior level so will command the respect of his players.

Once again Juniors will be a major focus for the Club as U15 and U17 numbers continue to be low. Its pleasing to see good numbers in the younger age groups and we will continue to provide a family focused, all inclusive and fun football experience for our next generation of starts.

The committee has seen a number of changes during the off season and the work behind the scenes is being tackled enthusiastically.  This year I am supported by Vice President Adam ‘Oonga’ Hurle, while Zara Howell has stepped up to the position of Treasurer.
